On April 2 you are invited to attend the Village Board meeting to hear a presentation by CMAP (Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning) regarding their Homes for a Changing Region project which features the municipal owned lot at Madison and Oak Park Avenue.
The Village Board will also be presented a follow-up presentation by Altamanu and staff on the Madison Street streetscape project. Altamanu and their traffic consultants will be discussing not only the street improvements, but potential impacts to side streets and Washington and Van Buren Streets and what may be used to mitigate any adverse impacts. This is a very critical step in working with the Village Board on helping them understand the positives of such a roadway improvement. The Board will have a subsequent meeting to fully discuss finance options. It would be great if as many of you could attend as possible to show your support for the corridor improvement project.
Aldi Corporation is continuing to pursue the Foley Rice property. Aldi has worked out their issues with the Historic Preservation Commission and are now in negotiation mode with the Foley Rice Corporation. If all goes well we may see some activity yet this year on the site.
Interfaith Development has received their tax credits for the project at Grove and Madison and are now pursuing their last leg of funding from a private source. They have plans in for plan review with hopes of submitting their final plans shortly for building permit review.
The Park District is moving along with their site on Lake Street for the gymnastic center. If all goes well there will be activity on Lake Street this year.
The Madison Highland Developers have received their 4th extension on their planned development which provides for another 6 month extension.
Nothing new at this point on the Lyman and Madison site.

A letter was recently sent to David Pope identifying changes to Madison Street Pace Bus Route 320. Midday service has been discontined due to a pattern of low ridership. Service will now operate only between 6:00am-9:00am and 2:00pm-6:00pm. Wait times will be between 30-60 minutes, depending on time of day and direction of travel. During off-peak times, riders can take the CTA Green or Blue line and transfer for service in the Madison Street Corridor. Further info can be obtained from Al Cacciottolo at 847-613-5878 or Al.Cacciottolo@pacebus.com
